Welcome to my website. After half a century as a sport writer, communications director, golf consultant and now author, I have tapped into those experiences to produce my first — and hopefully not last — crime novel.
Set against the backdrop of the PGA Championship at Wentworth, Four Deadly Swings exposes the soft underbelly of professional golf, uncovering a web of lies, deceit and secrets which trigger fatal consequences.
Published in paperback and EBook. Now available.
For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a sports writer. For this to happen just a few months short of my 18th birthday was nothing short of remarkable. Since that happy day, sport has consumed my life in all sorts of ways.
From the Aberdeen Press & Journal to the PGA European Tour, from football to golf to crime fiction — it’s been a joyful ride.
The genteel world of professional golf is rocked to its core by the brutal murder of rising star Ryan Slater at Wentworth. Irascible DCI Jack Hunter and disgraced journalist Adam Stringer race to find the killer — uncovering a web of lies, deceit, and deadly secrets worth killing for, leading to a jaw-dropping finale.
It’s not only your scorecard that can kill you.
